Call Details:
We have a 12 week rotation our CRNAs rotate through. Usually, the CRNA would only be on “2nd call” (meaning day shift, last to leave, then available by beeper with a 20 minute call back time) or on “1st call” (in house 3p-7a) per week. There is one week, that comes up approx. once or twice in this 12 week rotation that would be one of each in a one week time frame.
New CRNA Locums will usually not do 1st call. It will take at least a month, to 3 months, before they would be required to do in-house coverage. Simply because they need to know where all departments are and be very comfortable, not only here, but also with critical airways on their own as their next set of hands is a provider who is on call from home.
- NBCRNA – REQUIRED
- Active IA License or Compact License – REQUIRED
- Must be available for Full Time coverage – REQUIRED (Minimum 2-3 weeks per month)
- Open Heart Experience – HIGHLY PREFERRED (Note if provider has experience or not, and how many years).
- BLS, ACLS, PALS – REQUIRED
- COVID vaccine – REQUIRED
